My TSU Experience: Gabrielle Younginer

A four-year member of the Tigerbelles, Gabrielle Younginer has marked herself in the record books as an OVC champion. As a junior, Younginer captured gold in the long jump, and placed top 11 in the conference every other season in blue and white. Her senior season, she took to the track and helped the 4x100 team win silver at the OVC Outdoor Championships. Gabrielle graduated with a bachelor of science in Agricultural Sciences.

TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.
A: My college experience has been nothing but great.

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?
A: The people/staff

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
A: My friends

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?
A: When we won Indoor and when I won long jump at the OVC Outdoor Championship

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU?
A: When I crossed AKA.

TSUTigers: What are some accomplishments/goals that you reached at TSU?
A: My goal was to graduate on time.

A: Dr. Wu, my track coaches, my friends and family

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
A: Do your absolute best now, so you can chill later.

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?
A: Dr. Browning’s Beef Cattle Class

A: Dr. Wu, Dr. Boykin, Sammy Colmer

TSUTigers: What organizations were you a part of outside of your sport?
A: Alpha Kappa Alpha

A: Past teammates

A: Going to Chattanooga for an internship

A: Attending events through the alumni chapter

TSUTigers: What do you know now that you didn’t know coming in as a freshman?
A: There is a lot that I did not know.

TSUTigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?
A: I learned how to play my position.

A: Go hard, have a goal, achieve that goal.
