My TSU Experience: Abhilashsa Vishwanath

Abhilashsa Vishwanath played on the Tennessee State women’s tennis team for four seasons, leading the team in singles victories as a freshman and amassing 45 singles wins over her time in blue and white. She received three straight Medal of Honor awards and maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout her career. Vishwanath earned a bachelor of science in Psychology while minoring in Philosophy and will continue her education at the University of Arizona. She shared her college experience with

A:  In one word: Eventful.  

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU? 
A: The people are the best part of TSU.  

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU? 
A: The wonderful faculty and friends.  

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU? 
A: My last semester with my teammates.  

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU? 
A: The research experience with the psychology department.  

TSUTigers: What are some accomplishments/goals that you reached at TSU? 
A:  Researcher of the Year Award, McDonald Williams Senior Award, and Outstanding Post Award

A: Mr. G and Dave Miller  

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman? 
A: Enjoy your college experience 

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU? 
A: Cognitive and Affective Basis of Behavior 

TSUTigers: Who was your favorite professor? 
A: Dr. Joshua Shive and Dr. Charles Bowie.  

TSUTigers: What organizations were you a part of outside of your sport? 
A: Golden Key Honors Society and University Honors Council

A: Dr. Jackson

A: I’ll be entering the PhD program in psychology at the University of Arizona.

A: Visit during homecoming.

A: You can choose your path.  

TSUTigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life? 
A: It isn’t good or bad, it just is.
