NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Coming off a turnaround season, Tennessee State women’s tennis Head Coach Monroe Walker III added more experience to the lineup as Western Michigan transfer Ella Perinovic (Zagreb, Croatia) signed a financial aid agreement to play her final two collegiate seasons at TSU beginning in 2016-17.

“Ella comes to the program with a wealth of experience,” Walker III said. “With a young team, she will be able to provide leadership for the women. She is a great singles and doubles player. We are excited to have her join the team and help us improve our team."

Perinovic spent her first two seasons at Western Michigan, competing in the Mid-American Conference. This fall, Perinovic posted a 5-6 record in singles to go with a 4-4 doubles mark. Her wins included victories over opponents from Cincinnati and Marquette in singles, as well as Cincinnati, Iowa and Indiana in doubles.

During her freshman season in 2014-15, Perinovic put together a 6-18 singles record. In doubles, she went 10-12 with a 6-3 record at No. 3 doubles in dual matches. Throughout her time on the youth circuit, Perinovic consistently ranked among the top five players in Croatia.
