NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women’s tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday at Hadley Park to conclude a busy week. The Tigers suffered a 6-0 loss to Eastern Kentucky in an Ohio Valley Conference match and went on to beat Fisk, 7-0.

“We played a very good EKU team today,” Head Coach Monroe Walker III said. “They haven’t lost in the conference yet. I thought we had a good chance starting off with singles, but we just couldn’t pull it out. We had a couple tight matches, but I hope the girls know we have a lot to work on. We can’t be complacent and we have to keep improving. We had a great win against Fisk. We came out and dominated, so it’s good to finish the weekend on a high note.”

TSU is now 8-5 overall and 1-3 in OVC action.

The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday, March 29, for a road match at Alabama A&M.
