TSU Women's Tennis Hosts Jacksonville State in OVC Opener

OPENING SERVE: The Ohio Valley Conference opener for the Tennessee State women’s tennis team is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, at noon versus Jacksonville State at Hadley Park. TSU has won three matches this spring including victories over Rhodes and LeMoyne-Owen in its last two outings.

LAST TIME OUT: The last time TSU was in action was March 5 when the Tigers earned a 6-2 win over Rhodes and a 9-0 victory over LeMoyne-Owen in Memphis, Tenn. Ani Popiashvili (Tbilisi, Georgia) earned a No. 1 singles victory versus Rhodes, while Pragati Natraj (Bangalore, India) was a winner at No. 1 singles against LeMoyne-Owen.

ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks are looking to snap a five-match losing streak entering Saturday’s showdown in Nashville. Holding a 2-11 overall record, JSU is led by Sadey St. Amant’s four singles victories. Jacksonville State will take on Lipscomb on Saturday morning before playing TSU at noon.

LAST SEASON VERSUS JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks earned a 7-0 victory over TSU in last season’s matchup in Jacksonville, Ala.
