EVANSVILLE, Ind. --- The Tennessee State women’s golf team was able to cut 13 strokes off its round one score by teaming for a 62-over, 350, on the final day of the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate. Despite the improvement, the Tigers were unable to climb any higher in the standings, placing 13th.

IUPUI claimed the team title, as well as top honors as Marion DeBove finished the tournament at 2-over.

Haleigh Riley posted a 14-over, 86, during the second round to jump into a tie with Morgan Rood for top Tiger finisher. Rood shot an 89 over the final 18 holes to finish even with Riley at 33-over, 177. Rood paced her day with a birdie on the par-5, 2nd. The junior hit driver off the tee box to the right side of the fairway. Rood followed with a hybrid leaving 108 yards, setting up her approach shot with a pitching wedge to the green for the makeable putt.

Riley highlighted her day with a birdie on the par-5, 11th, while Savannah Szozda topped the Tigers with two birdies on the day. Szozda scored for TSU on day two by cutting her score on No. 2 and the par-3, 13th.

Dhani McDowell posted the final countable score for the Tigers on Tuesday with 16-over, 88. Kalee Rhodes finished with a 92 and just outside of scoring for TSUin the final round.

Up Next: The Tigers will close out the fall portion of their schedule as they host the Town & Country Invitational on Oct. 29-30.
