CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate on Monday. The Tigers are 10th after day one and hole a one shot lead over Eastern Illinois heading into Tuesday's final round.

Savannah Szozda and Morgan Rood marked in both rounds on Monday, along with Riley, for TSU. Szozda birdied No. 18 after hitting a driver off the tee box to the rough. The junior recovered as she hit her second shot to the fairway and reached the green on her third shot, leaving her a short distance to one putt for birdie.

In the afternoon session, Szozda birdied No. 11 by hitting her driver to the fairway. Szozda ran into trouble as she hit her second shot into the rough and found the sand trap on her third shot. The Knoxville, Tenn. product holed out from the bunker for birdie.

Rood found success on the par-3, 17th, all day. The junior carded birdies in both sessions. In the morning, Rood hit a 7-iron off the box to 12 feet of the flag before sinking the birdie putt. Rood followed with the 7-iron again off the tee to just below the hole, setting up her second better on the hole in as many rounds.

Kalee Rhodes posted a countable score for the Tigers during round one, while Dhani McDowell scored in the second. McDowell played aggressively on the par-3, 8th, using a 6-iron from 138 yards out. The tee shot left the sophomore 12 feet for her lone birdie of the round.

Up Next: The Tigers will play the final round of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
