NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State women’s golf team returned to action for the first time this spring and cut strokes in each round at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate. Carson Racich led the way, placing 16th in the field of 55 golfers. The freshman set a career personal best for a 54-hole tournament with a 232, which is the second best three round tournament in TSU history. Racich fell three shots short of the TSU mark set by Ashley Davis in 2003. Fellow freshmen Dhani McDowell shot seven strokes better than her round on Monday and 15 lesser than Sunday’s first 18 holes. The 85 for McDowell was one stroke off her career best set during the second round on Oct. 2 at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate. Sophomore Haleigh Riley finished 26 strokes better than her score from a year ago at the same course.
