NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State women’s golf team closed out the fall portion of the 2017-18 season in record breaking fashion. The Tigers combined for a 325 on Tuesday to go with a day one 321 for the best 36-hole tournament in program history. The 646 is 21 strokes better than the 36-hole, Saluki Invitational, result from the spring of 2017.

Freshman Carson Racich led the surge on Tuesday by recording the second best score in TSU history, a 1-over, 73. The mark is one stroke off of the record setting 72 by Jessica Nemnich at the WCU Great Smokies Collegiate Tournament in 2006.

Racich finished the tournament with a 9-over, 152, which is only behind Nemnich’s 147 during the 2006 tournament. The Town & Country Invitational total for the Loves Park, Ill. product is the lowest 36-hole mark for the Tigers since Jamie Pierce posted a 157 in 2012.
