CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. --- Carson Racich carded a 5-over, 77, on Monday afternoon to pace Tennessee State during the first two rounds held on Monday at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate. The freshman cut four strokes off her first round score to help jump six spots in the standing. Racich is tied for 20th, and is five strokes out of the top 10.

Haleigh Riley and Savannah Szozda posted countable scores for the Tigers in each round on Monday. Morgan rood scored in the opening round with an 87, but the Tigers threw out Rood's 87 in round two in favor of Dhani McDowell who posted an 84.

McDowell bettered her first round score by nine strokes with an 84 during the second set of 18 holes on day one of the two day event. The score was the best in the freshmans young career at TSU.

Carson Racich (Started on Hole 13)

  • Carded a triple bogey on the second hole of the day
  • Registered eight pars and a birdie over the final 16 holes
  • Hit a hybrid from 215 yards to the fringe of the green on No. 11, setting up a birdie
  • Had seven pars and a birdie through the first nine holes in the afternoon session
  • Drained a 12 foot birdie putt on hole the par-3, 2nd, in round two
  • Four holes later, sank a six foot birdie putt

Morgan Rood (Hole 14)

  •  Scattered eight pars throughout the first 18-holes on Monday

Savannah Szozda (Hole 15)

  • Started the day going 6-over through the first three holes
  • Notched two pars, a birdie and another par over the next four holes
  • Birdied three of six holes beginning on 12th hole of the round, the par-3, 8th
  • Bogeyed four of the first five holes in round two
  • Pared eight of the final 13 holes of the second round

Dhani McDowell (Hole 16)

  • Birdied the par-3, 13th, during the morning session
  • 12-over through first 12 holes of the second round
  • Birdied the par-5, 11th, ahead of a stretch of four consecutive pars

Haleigh Riley (Hole 17)

  • Secured an up and down during the opening round
  • Hit driver to the fairway and followed with a 3-wood from the lip of a sand bunker
  • Chipped up to inches of the cup for a tap in putt to save par
  • Hit driver to the right of the fairway on the par-4, 5th
  • Used 3-wood from 130 yards to punch out from behind a tree with a low shot under the branches to the green
  • Made a 10 foot putt for birdie

Paige Harlin (I) (Hole 9)

  • On the par-4, 5th, hit drive right into the trees
  • Punched out with a 5-iron landing 15 feet short of the green
  • Drained putt from off the green for birdie
  • First two shots on the par-5, 7th, set up short chip
  • Thinned pitching wedge over the green into taller grass
  • Punched out short of the green
  • Chipped in from 30 yards to save par
  • Withdrew after first round due to injury

Day Two: The third and final round begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday with a shotgun start.
