Women's Golf Returns to Action at The Samford Intercollegiate
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women's golf team will be back in action for the first time since October 31st. The early winter storms in the Nashville area eliminated the early events, making the Samford Intercollegiate the first tournament of the spring portion of the 2014-15 season.
The two-day, 54-hole event will be played at the 6,100-yard, Par-72 Hoover Country Club. Both days will begin at 8:30am with a shotgun start. Monday will consist of the first two rounds, a total of 36 holes. The final round of 18 will be played on Tuesday.
The Tigers will be a part of a 10 team field which includes Belmont, Evansville, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Ole Miss, West Alabama, West Georgia and the host, Samford.
Parrish McGrath will take juniors Laura Bremer, Kelly Merkel and Sarah Needleman into the competiton. The trio will be joined by sophomore Natalie Spicer and freshman Imani Stingley.
