Women's Golf Tees Off at Murray State Invitational
Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women’s golf team will take to the course to begin the season at the Fifth Annual Drake Creek Invitational hosted by Murray State. The two day event begins on Monday, Sept. 9 at the 6,178-yard, Par-72 Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter, Ky.
Day one will consist of 36 holes of play followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days are scheduled for a shotgun start at 8:00am.
The tournament features 11 teams, 69 golfers, from various conferences. The Tigers and host racers are two of six Ohio Valley Conference teams. Austin Peay, Belmont, Tennessee Tech and SIU Edwardsville from the OVC are joined by Dayton (Atlantic 10), Jackson State (SWAC), Marshall (Conference USA), Northern Kentucky (Atlantic Sun) and Western Kentucky to complete the field.
TSU returns sophomores Amelia Dap, Kelly Merkle and Sarah Needleman. The trio welcome sophomore transfer Laura Bremer and freshmen Erica Edwards and Natalie Spicer.
