Women's golf wraps up action at EKU Colonel Classic

Richmond, Ky. --- The Tennessee State University women's golf team finished in 13th place at the Lady Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

Tennessee State shot 401 in the opening round before carding a 402 in the second frame. TSU close out the final day with a third round score of 401 for a tournament total 1204.

In a field of 13 teams, TSU was led by Sara Shoufler as she placed 69th behind a score of 278. She shot rounds of 95, 94 and 89, respectively. Bria Norris (70th) finished three strokes behind Shoufler with 281 (92-93-96).

Mya Billingsley (71st) tallied 283 (93-98-92) while Shatara Williams (72nd) posted 362(121-117-124).

Akron won the tournament with a (+50) 914 while Toledo and OVC member Morehead State finished seven strokes behind in a tie for second place. Ball State grabbed fourth with a 62-over- 926.

Tennessee State will have a break before returning to action Sun-Tue, April 22-24, at the Ohio Valley Conference Golf Championship.
