TEGA CAY, S.C. --- The first-year Tennessee State women's golf team concluded a busy spring break in the 54-hole Winthrop University Shamrock Intercollegiate Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Tigers, who earlier in the week competed at the Murray State Lady Racer Invitational, was in a field of established programs and trailed the field of 13 teams. TSU shot a three-round total of 1,404. Elon came back from a nine-stroke deficit to win the first annual event played on the 5,842-yard Tega Cay Golf Club. The Phoenix shot a final round of 316 to win the tournament by 15 strokes with a final score of 976. Second round leader Western Carolina was runner-up with a 991. TSU was again led by freshman Ashley Davis. Davis had three rounds of 90 to finish with a 270 and in a tie for 40th place.
