Cross Country Looks Ahead to Austin Peay Festival

WOMEN (5K) 9:45 a.m. | MEN (5K): 9:00 a.m.

STARTING LINE: Tennessee State cross country returns to the trails Sept. 21 in nearby Clarksville, Tennessee, to compete in the Austin Peay Cross Country Festival Saturday morning. The meet is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. with the men's 5K followed by the women's 5K at 9:45 a.m. Results will be posted online following the race.

ABOUT THE TEAMS: At the second meet of the season on Sept. 12 -  the UTC Twilight – TSU finished third on the men’s side (7K) and fifth in the women’s race (4K). Thomas Mosley completed the course in 24:34.25 for TSU’s top time for 59th overall. He was followed closely by John Frierson in 25:54.37 for 74th place. For the Tigerbelles, sophomore Rebekah Wynn turned in the team’s top time in 16:48.33 for 54th place.

THE FIELD: Austin Peay, Bethel (Tenn.), Blue Mountain, Evansville, Lane, Lawson State, LeMoyne Owen, Rust and Tennessee State.  

UP NEXT: TSU completes its regular season at the Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, Kentucky, Oct. 12.
