Tigerbelles close out regular season at Valentine Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles will conclude their 2010-2011 regular indoor track and field season, Saturday, Feb. 12, at Middle Tennessee State's Valentine Invitational at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The meet will begin at 9:00 a.m., with field events and will conclude at 2:00 p.m., with the mile relay.

The competition will consist of Middle Tennessee State, Troy, Belmont, Milligan, UT Chattanooga, and Western Kentucky.

The Tigerbelles return to the Murphy Center and will look to improve after last week's Middle Tennessee State Invitational. Ashley Taylor led TSU at the competiton with a third-place finish in the 400m with Martinique Guice posting her best mark in the triple jump at 35-05.00 (10.79m) placing fourth. RECAP...

Last year at the invitational, The Tigerbelles recorded six finishes in the top-ten. The 4x400m relay team finished in second place with a time of 3:38.50 along with Gabrielle Todd registered the best individual performance on the track with her fastest time in the 400m last year (58.50 seconds). After a week off, the Tigerbelles will gear up for the 2011 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship. The meet is scheduled for Feb. 25 - 26 and will be hosted by Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill.
