Tigerbelles to compete in the Middle Tennessee State Invitational

Nashville, Tenn. - With the season winding down the Tennessee State University Tigerbelles will return to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to compete in the Middle Tennessee State Invitational.

The meet is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State. The event will open with the long jump at 8:30 a.m. The competition is slated to end with 4x400m relay at 1:40 p.m.

The teams scheduled to compete include: Arkansas-Little Rock, Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Vanderbilt.

The Tigerbelles will be competing on the Murphy Center's indoor track for the second time this season. In December, they opened the season at MTSU's Christmas Invitational. The 400m tandem of Ashley Taylor and Gabrielle Todd spotlighted the team's overall performance finishing in first and third. The team is coming off the TSU Invite in which the 4x400m relay team and Martinique Guice picked up first place. RECAP...

Guice recorded her current best jump of the season with a mark of 6.07m and was named adidas OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week for her performance. READ STORY...

Next week, the Tigerbelles will close out the regular indoor season before competing in the OVC Championship, when they return to MTSU to compete in the Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 12.
