Tigerbelles improve at Saluki Open

Carbondale, Ill.  The Tennessee State University Tigerbelles recorded a few finishes in the top three to close out Southern Illinois' Saluki Open on Saturday.

The 4x400m relay team of Gabrielle Todd, Daniell Exum, Breanna Adams and Ashley Taylor broke the tape in the event with a time of 3:53.15. The quartet captured first in the event with the complete time lowered to 3:50.35 due to track size. TSU now owns the fastest time of 3:50.35 in the event on the season.

Earlier, Todd finished third in the 400m at 57.90 with Taylor running a 58.87 for fourth overall.

On day one of competition, Martinique Guice finished third in the long jump. Guice notched a jump of 18-08.50 (5.70m) before finishing eighth overall in the 60m at 7.90 seconds.

Up next, the Tigerbelles will take the week off before hosting the TSU Invite on Saturday, Jan. 29, at the Gentry Center on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track.
