Tigerbelles finish ETC 2011

Nashville, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University women's track and field team continued the season after the winter break as the Tigerbelles hosted the 2011 Ed Temple Classic on Saturday in the Gentry Center.

The competition featured 11 other collegiate teams and several track clubs on the Wilma Rudolph Indoor Track.

The 4x400m relay team of Gabrielle Todd, Ashley Taylor, Danielle Exum and Breanna Adams posted the best overall finish. The team ran a time of 3:56.59 for second place.

In the individual standings, Martinique Guice finished third overall, second among collegiate competitors, in the long jump with a mark of 18-09.25 (5.72m).

Todd and Erin Reid finished fourth in their events. Todd finished the 400m clocking in at 57.98 seconds and Reid ran the 55m in 7.23 seconds.

Teannah Holland was the top collegiate finisher in the shot put finishing fifth overall. She recorded her best toss at 39-00.25 (11.89m).

Next, the Tigerbelles will head to Carbondale, Ill. to compete in the Saluki Open hosted by Southern Illinois. The two-day event will begin on Friday, Jan. 14.
