GAMEDAY
The Tennessee State University women’s basketball team will return to action on Thursday, Feb.21 against SIU Edwardsville. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in Gentry Center. The contest will mark TSU’s Play4Kay game.

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE
Tennessee State is coming off a heartbreaking, 76-73, loss to Jacksonville State in overtime on Saturday. The Lady Tigers are 4-22 overall with an OVC mark of 4-10. TSU is 2-5 at home in league games.

Redshirt senior Tia Wooten leads the team in scoring with 13.5 ppg while sophomore Taylor Roberts averages 12.8 ppg. Redshirt sophomore Cebria Outlow (8.6 ppg) is the team’s third leading scorer. Wooten (6.9 rpg) and Jaden Wrightsell (6.6 rpg) lead TSU in rebounding.

As a team, TSU is averaging 59.0 ppg while shooting 33.4 percent from the field, including 22.6 percent from three-point range and 70.1 percent from the free-throw line. TSU is ranked third in the OVC in offensive rebounds (14.7), fifth in free-throw percentage (.701) and fifth in steals (8.7).

LAST TIME OUT
The Tennessee State University women’s basketball saw the game slip away in the final seconds as the Lady Tigers fell to Jacksonville State, 76-73, in overtime Saturday night in Pete Mathews Coliseum. In a game that was highly contested from the onset, Tia Wooten hit a jumper late in the game to tie the score at 73-all. With 3.4 seconds remaining, however, JSU went the length of the court and drained a three-pointer as time expired to escape with the win. Taylor Roberts led TSU with 27 points while Tia Wooten added 18.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
SIU Edwardsville (11-14, 6-8 OVC) is coming off a 75-48 loss to UT Martin. The Cougars have lost three of their last four. Allie Trockler leads the team with 8.7 ppg while the team averages 61.6 ppg.
