Tennessee State will face SEC opponent Vanderbilt on Wednesday, Nov. 21 before the Thanksgiving holiday. Game time is slated for noon in Memorial Coliseum.

Tennessee State dropped its third consecutive game to open the season after falling to Troy, 92-67, on Friday. Despite being in Nashville, Wednesday will mark the fourth straight road contest for TSU.
After three games, sophomore Taylor Roberts is leading the team in scoring with 16.3 points per game. Redshirt senior Tia Wooten is second on the team in scoring with 16.0 points per game while redshirt senior Lauren Elliott rounds out the top three scorers with 9.7 ppg. Sophomore Jaden Wrightsell (7.3 rpg) and redshirt sophomore Cebria Outlow (6.7 rpg) lead the team in rebounds.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
SEC member Vanderbilt (1-4) is coming off an, 80-42, loss to No. 2 U Conn. The Commodores have dropped two straight and have a win over Austin Peay this season. VU has four players averaging double-digits in scoring, led by Chelsie Hall’s 14.2 ppg. Mariella Fasoula (12.2 ppg), Cierra Walker (10.4 ppg) and Autumn Newby (10.0 ppg) also average double figures in scoring. Stephanie White is in her third season as Vanderbilt’s head coach.
The Lady Tigers will match-up with the Commodores for the 17th time in the series history with Vanderbilt holding a 14-2 lead. The last time the teams met was nine years ago when VU claimed a lopsided 84-47 victory on Dec. 20. 2009. TSU’s last win was a 58-56 victory during the 1979-80 season.
