Women's Basketball Signs Deaja Richardson During Early Period

NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State University head women’s basketball coach Jessica Kern announced the signing of Deaja Richardson to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

Richardson, a 5-9 guard/forward from Kernersville N.C. attends West Ridge Academy. As a junior she averaged 10.4 points per game while playing in 31 games for the Golden Knights.

“Deaja is a tall guard that shoots it across half,” said head coach Jessica Kern. “We’ve been looking for one of those kind of shooters for a while. She stretches the floor on offense and on defense and she can defend all positions. She’s also a great student in the classroom.”

Richardson helped guide her team to an impressive 32-3 record for a .914 winning percentage last season. She dished out 2.6 assists per outing while recording 1.9 steals per game.
