GAMEDAY: The Tennessee State women’s will continue its road swing with a contest at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 3. Game time for the OVC matchup is set for 4:30 p.m. ET (3:30 CT).

THE LADY TIGERS AT A GLANCE: Tennessee State (4-16, 2-9 OVC) is looking for its first road win of the season. The Lady Tigers are coming off a loss to Morehead State on Thursday. Despite scoring the third most points in a game this season, TSU fell to MSU, 97-81, in Johnson Arena.

Redshirt junior Tia Wooten is leading the team with an OVC best 21.7 points per game while freshman Taylor Roberts averages 14.7 points per outing. Kaliya Griffin (8.7 ppg) is the third leading scorer for the Lady Tigers. Wooten and Roberts also lead the team in rebounding.

As a team, TSU is averaging 68.6 points per game while shooting 37.7 from the field and 31.3 percent from three-point range. The Lady Tigers are shooting 74.5 from the free-throw line.

In the OVC rankings, TSU is second in free-throw percentage and third in steals and offensive rebounding.

LAST TIME OUT: Tennessee State scored more than 80 points for the second consecutive game but it wasn’t enough to pull off the win in an 87-71 loss to Morehead State on the road. TSU battled the first half before getting outscored, 32-21, in the third quarter. TSU fell behind by 19 in the third period and never bounced back. Tia Wooten led TSU with 27 points and 10 rebounds for her 8th double-double of the season while Kaliya Griffin added 13. Taylor Roberts (12) and Maxine Beard (11) also reached double-digits.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT: Eastern Kentucky is 7-13 overall with a 4-7 conference mark. The Colonels have dropped three straight and are coming off a, 77-55, loss to league leader Belmont on Thursday. As a team, EKU averages 57.2 points per game led by A’Queen Hayes’ 15.5 ppg. Abby Wright (13.5 ppg) and Bria Bass (10.9 ppg) also average double-digits in scoring for EKU. The Colonels are 5-4 at home this season.

SERIES INFORMATION: Tennessee State will match-up with Eastern Kentucky for the 64th time in the series history with EKU holding a 41-22 lead. TSU went 1-1 against EKU last year with each team winning on its home court.
