Women's basketball signs Brianna Lawrence

Nashville, Tenn. --- Head coach Tracee Wells has announced the signing of Brianna Lawrence to a National Letter of Intent to attend Tennessee State University.

Lawrence will begin attending Tennessee State University in fall 2012.

"I'm very excited about Brianna joining the Lady Tiger basketball program," said head coach Tracee Wells. "She is a very dynamic player that can score at will from every area of the court. The skills Brianna brings to the table will mesh well with the experience that we will return next season."

A 5-7 guard, Lawrence competed four years at Rockdale High School in Conyers, Ga.

As a senior, she averaged 9.2 points per game while recording 4.6 rebounds per outing. She also posted 4.3 steals and 3.2 blocks per contest.

"Brianna's parents were very impressed with Tennessee State University's academic programs," Wells continued. "As a high school student, Brianna has excelled in academics and I look forward to her doing well on the court as well as in the classroom in the years to come."
