NASHVILLE---The Tennessee State University women's basketball team will host UT-Martin in the second contest of a two-game home stand Thursday night in the Gentry Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The Lady Tigers picked up another conference win last Saturday and extended their home winning streak to three games with a 84-71 victory over Austin Peay. Sophomore Oby Okafor scored a career-high 32 points while Kendra Appling also recorded a career-high with 23 points in the contest. The Skyhawks are coming off a big 63-54 win over Southeast Missouri and are currently locked in a three way tie for fourth place in the conference standings. UT-Martin is led in scoring by Phyllisha Mitchell with 12.8 points per game. Mitchell also leads the Skyhawks in rebounding with 9.1 boards per contest. Earlier this season, Tennessee State dropped a 57-65 decision to UT-Martin at Skyhawk Arena. The Lady Tigers trailed the Skyhawks by as many as fifteen points in the second half but used a 12-3 run to get back into the game. Leading by three points (53-50) with 1:26 left on the clock, UT-Martin scored five unanswered points to seal the win. Oby Okafor led the Lady Tigers in scoring and captured her fifth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The game will be available to watch live on
