NASHVILLE---Sponsored by HCA's TriStar Family of Hospitals, the HCA-OVC Student-Athlete Spotlight recognizes Ohio Valley Conference Student-Athletes that are making a difference, on the field, in the classroom and in their communities. This week, the spotlight shines on Tennessee State's Obiageli Okafor. Obiageli Okafor is in her sophomore season on the Tennessee State women's basketball team. This past summer, Okafor was selected as a student-athlete representative on the NCAA Women's Basketball Issues Committee for the duration of her college career to impact change in women's basketball. Last season she was a co-captain as a freshman and averaged 11.0 points per game. The Rolla, Mo., native received the Civitan Sportsmanship Award last spring. This year Okafor is participating in the INTUS Leadership training on program on the TSU campus, which teaches student-athletes to develop their leadership talents.
