LADY TIGERS SEE TECH MAKE LATE SURGE

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- The Tennessee State Lady Tigers saw host Tennessee Tech make a late surge to pull away for a 69-48 victory Saturday in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Lady Tigers trailed by five and after Tech opened as much as a 15-point lead, TSU fought back to pull within seven points at 44-37 with 7:48 remaining. The final margin was Tech's largest lead as the Golden Eaglettes closed the game with a 12-2 run. Leslie Dean scored 14 points while Kendra Bailey added 10. TSU shot 28 percent from the field in both halves. Tech (14-5, 7-1) was led by Emily Christian's 20 points while Kendall Cavin added 19. The Eaglettes held a 45-31 rebounding edge. TSU (5-14, 2-6) closes out a four-game road swing. TSU hosts Eastern Kentucky Thursday night.
