NASHVILLE --- Junior Lakisha Clay of the Tennessee State women's basketball team earned her first in-season nod from the Ohio Valley Conference this week. She received Newcomer of the Week honors for her performances in games last week. The Detroit, Mich. native averaged 11.3 points and three boards over three games last week. She helped the Lady Tigers win their first game of the season over city rival Fisk (1/19), scoring 15 points. She shot 83.3 percent from the field and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the line in the win over the Bulldogs. The guard netted 13 points and pulled down three boards in the contest with Tennessee-Martin (1/22). She added six points and four rebounds against Murray State (1/24). Clay continues to lead the OVC in steals, averaging 2.50 swipes per game. She is also eighth overall in assists (3.12 apg) and is 11th in assist to turnover ratio, notching 0.65.
