NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State junior guard Aquanya McClain has received the OVC Newcomer of the Week award for the second time in three weeks for her play in last week's outings. McClain, who was cleared to play for the Feb. 1 game, led TSU in scoring at Eastern Kentucky with 15 points, which preceded a team-high 19 points at Austin Peay. The 5-6 guard from Nashville connected on 48 percent (14-29) of her field goals attempts. She also pulled down 12 rebounds, dished out six assists, made six steals, and had one blocked shot. Over the stretch of six games, McClain has averaged 13.8 ppg and 6.0 rebounds. McClain's honor marks the third consecutive week that TSU has received an OVC weekly award. Odessa Kelly was the Player of the Week for Feb. 11 while McClain earned her first Newcomer Award the previous week. Guard Kisha Stewart was an honoree in December. ###
