NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State junior basketball player Odessa Kelly has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performance in the Lady Tigers' wins over Murray State and Tennessee-Martin. A 5-11 post player from Nashville and graduate of Stratford High School, Kelly averaged 27.5 and 12.5 rebounds a game in TSU's first back-to-back OVC wins since the Lady Tigers defeated UT Martin and Murray State during the 1999-2000 season. Kelly scored 22 points and grabbed a career-high 15 points in the Murray State win last Thursday. In Monday's victory over UTM, Kelly fired in a career-high 33 points and gained the double-double with 10 rebounds. She connected on 15-22 field goals and also blocked four Skyhawk shots. The award marks the second straight week that a TSU player has received a weekly OVC award. Aquanya McClain received OVC Newcomer of the Week last week for play in her season debuts, while junior college transfer Kisha Stewart was honored in December. ###
