NASHVILLE --- In its third round of signings, Tennessee State volleyball has announced the addition of Amiyah King (Hoover, Ala.), Jasmine Fuqua (Lebanon, Tenn.) and Kariely Santana (Caguas, Puerto Rico) to the 2019 roster.
Head coach Donika Sutton has tallied two outside hitters, two setters, a middle blocker and a right side over the course of the signing period - many athletes playing six-rotations contributing to the depth of Big Blue's defensive power.

"Amiyah is a 2018 AAU All-American and is one of the top players coming out of Alabama," said Sutton. "She will be coming in as a freshmen setter. This kid is small in statue, but plays a very BIG game! She is quick to the ball, shows great control and distribution of her sets. She leads her team and having a competitive player of her caliber will help to push her teammates each play, set and point. Setters like Amiyah encourage hitters to play with and for her. "Jasmine is the 2018 Wilson County Player of the Year," said Sutton. "Coming in as a freshmen outside hitter, this kid can do it all. She will be a solid six-rotation pin hitter who has a proven ability to lead her team to a stellar winning season. She is detailed-oriented and disciplined on defense. Shows a solid display of serve receive focus, a big time communicator and she always finds the kill! Players like her know how to lead and win. "Kariely is the total package as a six-rotation outside hitter. said Sutton. "She brings a wealth of experience coming from Tyler College, where she helped lead her team to the Junior College Nationals during her freshmen and sophomore campaign. Santana will add great height and agility across the net. She will also bring great depth to our defense and serve receive. I expect her to come in ready to go.
