NASHVILLE --- Head coach Donika Sutton and the Tennessee State volleyball program announced its second group of spring 2019 National Letter of Intent signees, Alondrah Santana Rodriguez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) and Kendall Bullock (Nashville, Tennessee).
ALONDRAH SANTANA RODRIGUEZ
Middle Blocker, 6-0
Toa Baja, Puerto Rico | Academia Discpulos de Cristo, Bayamon
- Competed in the International AAU tournament with the Puerto Rican National Team as a freshman, and again at the Women's Pan American Cup as a sophomore
- Member of the National Honor Society
“Alondrah was recruited to be an offensive threat," said Sutton. "She will be an immediate impact player. It will be exciting to watch how her game grows and expands during her time in blue. She brings speed, consistency and great eye to her attention to detail! She will also add depth and height at the middle position at 6’1. Alondrah displays great use of her reach and length at the net offensively and defensively. Her best assets are her desire to get better, work hard and be relentless on the attack. Welcome to Tiger Volleyball, Alondrah."
Right Side/Outside Hitter, 5-10
Nashville, Tenn. | Hume Fogg Academic High School
- Awarded District 10-AA MVP 2017-18
- Bullock was a 2x Regional All-Tournament Team 2016-17
- Named to First Team All-District 2016 and to the District All-Tournament Team 2016 and 2018
"Kendall comes to us highly recruited from Hume-Fogg, where she played MB/OPP and OH," said Sutton. "That type of versatility is what we look for in our players. Kendall is a great addition to our roster because she is solid on her block. Offensively, she sees the defense well and uses her shots to find the floor. Kendall also has a wealth of experience in the backcourt and on serve receive. As a six-rotation pin hitter she has the potential to see some serious playing time during her freshman campaign. A Nashville native, she knows the program, the current student-athletes and how high the expectations are. It is my goal to have the best home grown talent Metro has to offer, and I think we hit the mark with Kendall. Welcome to Tiger Volleyball, Kendall."
