Tiger Volleyball Adds Sofia Garcia-Guerrios to the 2019 Roster

NASHVILLE --- Head coach Donika Sutton and the Tennessee State volleyball program announced its first spring class of 2019 National Letter of Intent signee, Sofia Garcia-Guerrios (Manati, Puerto Rico).

“As an incoming freshman, Sofia is going to bring leadership and experience at the setting position thanks to her participation in domestic and international competition,” said Sutton. “ Sofia is poised, energetic and an active communicator when on the court. She is expected to be an immediate impact player this fall as her ability to run an effective offense consistently has led her teams to championships year after year.”

  • Named team captain on four first place domestic and international teams and two second place teams
  • Competed in the Panamerican Cup (Cuba), Copa Totin Matos, Spring Volleyball Challenge, Power League, Jeep Volleyball Championship and AAU International
  • Earned a spot on Puerto Rico’s Youth National Team, 2016 & 2017
    • Won the Best Server Award, 2016
    • Team captain, 2017
  • Maintained a 4.0 throughout high school
