My TSU Experience: Katora Roberts

Katora Roberts completed a two-year career as a middle-blocker for the Tennessee State volleyball team. She started 51 of the 59 matches and, as a senior, finished second on the team with 250 kills. The Winter Haven, Florida, native highlighted her final year in blue and white recording a career high 19 kills at Jacksonville State and a season high five blocks in the conference win against crosstown-rival Belmont.

Katora graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State on Saturday, May 5. She recently shared her experience with

TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience.
A: I enjoyed every minute!

TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?
A: The atmosphere

TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?
A: Being around my teammates and coaches

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?
A: When Rachel got an amazing kill against EKU and I “passed out” because of it.

TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU?
A: Meeting the President at Newk’s and talking TSU’s future plans.

TSUTigers: What are some accomplishments/goals that you reached at TSU?
A: Making it to the OVC tournament junior year, playing in every game senior year.

TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?
A: My mom

TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?
A: Enjoy every moment! It goes by fast!

TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?
A: Social Stats

A: Dr. Hampton

TSUTigers: Who have been the most influential people to you at TSU?
A: Cherlie, Alexis, Sam and Anna.

A: Possibly grad school. Leaving it in God’s hands.

TSUTigers: Once you are an alumnus, how will you stay connected with TSU?
A: Live streaming EVERY game and trying to come back and visit during homecoming.

TSUTigers: What do you know now that you didn’t know coming in as a freshman?
A: Every day you should cherish!

TSUTigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?
A: Everything! Cherish moments; play hard like it’s your last day!
