Tennessee State Volleyball Travels to Bowling Green

MATCH INFORMATION: The Tennessee State volleyball team will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky, to take on the Lady Toppers of WKU Tuesday evening in E.A. Diddle Arena at 6 p.m.

TSU UPDATE: TSU is 1-2 after a trip to the Hampton Inn and Suites Classic hosted by College of Charleston. In its final match against USC Upstate, the Tigers fought for two-and-a-half hours and through five sets to defeat the Spartans 3-2. Senior libero Cherlie Adorno DeJesus, who earned a spot on the All-Tournament team, posted a career-high 37 digs. Her previous career best was 34 digs against Jacksonville State last season.

SERIES INFORMATION: The Tigers are looking to snap its eight-game losing streak against the Lady Toppers. In the all-time series, the Tigers have gone 1-20. The last time the Tigers took on WKU was in 2011.

ABOUT WKU: The Lady Toppers are coming off of a 3-0 run in its season opening tournament Southern Illinois, Miami (OH) and Northern Arizona. Senior Sydney Engle took home Tournament MVP, while two other Lady Toppers were named to the All-Tournament team.

UP NEXT: The Tigers host its first-ever tournament in Kean Hall against Head Coach Donika Sutton’s alma mater, Alcorn State, as well as New Orleans and Florida International this weekend, Sept. 1-2.
