My TSU Experience: Taylor Patterson

Taylor Patterson was a member of the Tennessee State volleyball team for four years. She played in all 33 games and recorded 177 killls as a senior. She finished 3rd on the team in digs with 311 and registered three double-doubles on the season. She graduated from TSU with a bachelor's degree in May.

She talked about her TSU experience.


TSUTigers: Talk about your overall TSU experience. 

A: I enjoyed it. TSU was full of ups and downs but overall it was very fun and rewarding.


TSUTigers: What do you love most about TSU?

A: My teammates, they made everything fun and enjoyable.


TSUTigers: What will you miss most about TSU?

A: Volleyball


TSUTigers: What is your most memorable moment in your sport at TSU?

A: Winning the first round of the OVC tournament my junior year.


TSUTigers: What is your most memorable non-sport moment at TSU?

A: My internship and homecoming.


TSUTigers: Do you have a favorite TSU fan/supporter? If so, who?

A: My mother; she has always been my biggest supporter.


TSUTigers: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?

A:  Take your academics seriously and enjoy the process.


TSUTigers: What was your most challenging class at TSU?

A: Nutrition and wellness


TSUTigers: Who was your favorite professor?

A: Professor Thornton


TSUTigers: Who have been the most influential people to you at TSU?

A: My teammates


TSUTigers: What’s next for you?

A: Working and being an adult in the real world


TSUTigers: Once you are an alumnus, how will you stay connected with TSU?

A: Homecoming


TSUTigers: What do you know now that you didn’t know coming in as a freshman?

A: How much I would grow throughout my four years.


TSU Tigers: What have you learned at TSU that you will keep with you for the rest of your life?

A: I have learned a lot; but most of all I have learned that I met my lifelong friends in college.
