BRENTWOOD, Tenn. --- Tennessee State’s middle blocker Payten Clark was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer Player of the Week. This is the freshman’s first time winning the award. She is only the second TSU player to win a conference award this season.

The freshman is second on the team with 44 total blocks this year. Clark has led or tied for the most blocks in seven of Tennessee State’s matches thus far.

Clark recorded 24 kills, 10 digs and 15 blocks over Tennessee State's three matches. She had seven kills and two blocks in the win over Middle Tennessee.
