OPENING SERVE: The Tennessee State volleyball team will continue conference play on Friday Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. against Jacksonville State followed by a non-conference match against Rice on Saturday Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. Both games will be played in Kean Hall.

LAST TIME OUT: TSU (8-8) won their first conference match of the season in a five set thriller over Tennessee Tech on Wednesday. It was a total team effort for Tennessee State with Chloe Watson and Puamana Danielson both posting double-doubles. Arijana Anderson contributed 15 kills in the game. Four Tigers posted double-digit digs in the match. Cherlie Adorno-DeJesus led the way with 32 digs. The

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks are undefeated in conference play with a 2-0 record. Jacksonville State is on a three game win streak with its last victory coming in form of 3-0 win over Eastern Kentucky. Allyson Zuhlke leads the OVC in total kills with 252. Jade Mortimer is ranked 30th in the NCAA with 284 total digs.

SCOUTING RICE: Rice University is 9-7 so far this season. The Owls are on a five game winning streak. They will travel to Murfreesboro to play MTSU before a showdown with the Tigers on Saturday. Senior Chelsey Harris garnered C-USA Offensive Player of the Week with 40 kills in two matches last week. Lee Ann Cunningham has 255 digs on the season defensively.

ALL TIME VERSUS OPPONENTS: The Tigers have an overall record of 9-21 against Jacksonville State. Last season the teams split two matches with each team going 1-1. Tennessee State will play Rice for the first time in school history.

UP NEXT: The Tigers will face Middle Tennessee State University at home on Wednesday Oct.5 in Kean Hall at 6 p.m.
