Shaquita Williams named OVC Co-offensive Player of the Week

Nashville, Tenn. --- Senior Shaquita Williams was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Offensive Player of the week on Monday Sept. 19.

Williams (MB/OH) posted a .460 hitting percentage, committing just six errors on 87 attempts in Tennessee State's three matches last week. She had 13 kills behind a .500 hitting percentage in three sets versus Western Kentucky.

Against Morehead State, she led the team with nine kills and a .304 attack percentage. A native of Huntsville, Ala., Williams registered a season-high 24 kills to go with a .526 hitting percentage to help TSU come back from being two sets down to defeat Eastern Kentucky.

As a senior Williams is leading the Tigers in kills per set, hitting percentage and service aces. This is her first OVC weekly honor of the season and second overall as she was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week last November.
