Getting to know Calasia Williams

Why did you choose Tennessee State?

I chose Tennessee State because I wanted to be at an HBCU and this was one of the few HBCU's with a legit team.

What areas do you feel that you have improved on the court?

I have definitely approved with reading and seeing the hitter better.

What will you do help Tennessee State volleyball be successful?

I will be a leader and take care of the first ball.

How has your summer been preparing for the upcoming season?

I prepared more over the summer this year than I ever have. I ran every day and lifted quite a bit. I played at least 3 days out of the week.

What are you looking forward to most this season?

I am looking for to winning a championship.

What can Tiger fans expect to see from you on the court?

They can expect to see me playing with a lot of heart and being one of the loudest. 

What do you do to get ready for a match? 

I usually listen to gospel and up beat music to get me hype and pray by myself before every match. 

What is your favorite volleyball moment of your career up to this point?

Winning Nationals

What do you enjoy doing outside of volleyball?

Spending time with the people I care about the most.

What is something unique about yourself that you can tell Tiger fans?

I'm half native American.
