Getting to know Miaje Hubbard

Why did you choose Tennessee State?

I thought it would be awesome to experience something different than what I was used to.  I wanted to get away from the west coast and see what it's like to live in the south. Also, all of the people here were very welcoming.

What areas do you feel that you have improved on the court?

I have come a long way since last year. I have improved my swing and my quickness on the court.

What will you do help Tennessee State volleyball be successful?

I am going to support my team and work as hard as I can no matter how tired or sore that I am.

How has your summer been preparing for the upcoming season?

It has actually been fun.  We all came pretty focused and ready to train hard for this year so it was actually really exciting.  Not at all saying that it was easy though.

What are you looking forward to most this season?

Growing together as a team.  I think we have a ton of potential this year and it is going to be really exciting to see how we use that this season.

What can Tiger fans expect to see from you on the court?

Excitement and hard work.

What do you do to get ready for a match?

Pray and listen to music.

What is your favorite volleyball moment of your career up to this point?

Junior Olympics.  Even though I was on crutches and unable to play, it was really exciting to watch my team go undefeated almost the entire tournament.

What do you enjoy doing outside of volleyball?

Spending time with my friends and family.

What is something unique about yourself that you can tell Tiger fans?

I am allergic to practically everything.
