Fresh off of an undefeated weekend, 2-0, the Tennessee State University volleyball team will have little time to rest as the Tigers return to action on Tuesday to face the Eagles of Morehead State. Last week, Tennessee State picked up two crucial league wins over Eastern Illinois and Southeast Missouri to get back in the mix of the OVC race. TSU, currently tied for fourth place, is 5-9 overall with a 3-3 conference mark.
TSU defeated Eastern Illinois, 3-1, on Friday night before being pushed to the limit in a, 3-2, victory over Southeast Missouri on Saturday. As a team, the Tigers tallied 110 kills and hit .167 over the weekend. Santia Sanders and Kamille King were solid for the Tigers in both matches. Against Eastern Illinois, Sanders posted 12 kills and 11 digs while Kamille King registered 11 kills and 14 digs. Sanders (15 kills, 13 digs) and King (13 kills, 23 digs) also notched double-doubles against SEMO. With the two wins, Tennessee State swept a weekend for the first time since 2008.
