NASHVILLE --- Tennessee State senior volleyball player Katrelle Armwood helped lead to the Lady Tigers to a pair of wins in her final home appearances. Armwood has once again been honored by the Ohio Valley Conference as Defensive Player of the Week. Armwood received the OVC Defensive Player honor for the third time this season for her play in the Lady Tigers' wins over Austin Peay and Tennessee-Martin this past week. The Lady Tigers' lone senior was honored prior to the match with UT Martin. The Durham, N.C. resident responded with a 24-dig effort in her final appearance in Kean Hall. She had 21 earlier against Austin Peay as the Lady Tigers rolled to three-game sweeps in each of the matches. Armwood's performance helped ensure the Lady Tigers of earning a share of their first OVC title. The Lady Tigers open play in the OVC Tournament as a second seed on Saturday.
