CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. --- The Tennessee State volleyball team (4-24, 1-12 OVC) was unable to keep up the momentum from its historic Ohio Valley Conference win last week and fell to Southeast Missouri State (7-15, 6-6 OVC), 3-0, on Saturday night. The Otahkians never let the Lady Tigers get a foot in the door to victory, paralyzing its offensive efforts throughout the match. SEMO, who took the games, 30-17, 30-17, 30-23, respectively, held Tennessee State to a measly .050 for the entire match. Junior Jennifer Washington (East Pointe, Ga.) led the defensive effort with 20 digs. Sophomore LaQuata Marsh (Chattanooga, Tenn.) hit a team-high .333 with two kills, four digs and one block assist. Freshman Allyson Buckner (Humble, Texas) and junior Thereza Wright (El Paso, Texas) each recorded four kills. The Lady Tigers return to action on Tuesday night as they travel across town to take on the Belmont Bruins. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
