The Tennessee State volleyball team (4-15, 0-7 OVC) fell in action on Tuesday to Austin Peay (9-10, 4-3 OVC) at Kean Hall. The final score of the match was 3-0 in favor of the Lady Govs. The Lady Tigers, still in the hunt for their first Ohio Valley Conference win of the season, rebounded quickly after dropping the first game, 30-20. Game two saw Tennessee State put pressure on the Lady Gov defense, leaving them scrambling to return attacks. However, once Austin Peay finally gained the lead late in the game, the went on to take game two, 30-19. In game three, the Lady Govs demonstrated they learned from their mistakes in the first two games but the Lady Tigers were not going down without a fight. Matching Austin Peay almost point for point, Tennessee State kept the game score tight with several long rallies. Unfortunately, the Lady Govs proved too strong and took game three, 30-24. Tennessee State returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 16 as it hosts Southeast Missouri State. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
