Tennessee State returns to action after taking a week off after one of their better performances of the season. The Tigers finished 3-1 at the MVSU Legends Classic Tournament and batted .311 as a team. Patton Akers registered multiple hits in all four contests over the weekend hitting at a .643 clip. The senior opened the slate with a 2-for-4, two run outing against Arkansas-Pine Bluff before going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI against Mississippi Valley State. Akers opened day two by going 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a hit by pitch. The outfielder closed out the tournament finishing 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a hit by pitch. Beckey Melton followed with a .556 average, going 5-for-9 with a triple, to go along with two walks and a hit by pitch for a .615 on base percentage.

In the circle, Lauren Powell earned a win in relief tossing 1.1 innings of perfect ball with three strikeouts and earned a complete game one-run, three-hit victory against Florida A&M. Powell went 2-1 on the weekend, fanning 17 batters on the weekend, including seven against FAMU and seven in 4.1 innings of relief work against Mississippi Valley State. Raven Loveless went 1-0 with a 3.32 ERA in 12.2 innings of work. Loveless registered 10 strikeouts, including a career best seven against MVSU.
