Tennessee State finished 1-4 at the Bulldog Kickoff Classic at Mississippi State a week ago. TSU highlighted the tournament with an upset, come from behind, win over previously undefeated Tulsa. In four games, two versus the Golden Eagles and two against Mississippi State, the Tigers allowed an average of 2.5 runs per game. Raven Loveless finished 1-0 on the weekend with a 0.91 ERA in 15.1 innings of work, while Lauren Powell posted a 2.84 ERA in 12.1 frames.

Reese Weber recorded a hit in each of the five games to increase her batting average to .200 after going 0-for-10 in the opening weekend. Katie Schneider tallied 20 putouts in the 10 inning victory against Tulsa and set the NCAA mark for most in a game this season. In the same contest, Lauren Farias converted eight assists, which is the top amount in Division-I in 2020.
