TSU hosts Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State for a pair of Ohio Valley Conference double headers. The Golden Eagles come to town on Friday, while the Gamecocks are in town for Senior Day. The Tigers in their final year in Blue will be honored prior to the first game on Saturday.

The Tigers dropped a midweek conference to Belmont on Wednesday. Senior Emma Colegrove hit her first career home run in the opener and added a double. Patton Akers collected three of her four hits of the night in game one. Colegrove and Akers led a 12-hit attack against the Bruins. The hit total is the most for the Tigers in OVC play this season and the second highest total in 2019, behind a 14 hit performance versus Delaware State on Mar. 10. Sarah Snell registered a pair of base on balls during the twin bill and became TSUs all time walk leader with the first.

Freshman pitcher Alyssa Arden has emerged as the ace of the pitching staff by compiling a 10-7 record with a 2.86 ERA. Arden tossed her third no-hitter of the season earlier in the week has 86 strikeouts in 105.1 innings. Offensively, Beth McCulley and Raleigh Lewis are both batting over .300 on the season. McCulley is hitting .366 with team highs in doubles (8) and stolen bases (9). Lewis has driven in 23 runs while batting .305 with six home runs.

Jacksonville State (25-11, 9-3)

The Gamecocks enter the weekend with a team .291 batting average and sports five batters over .300. Taylor Beshears leads all batters at .398 and also tops JSU with 36 runs, eight doubles and is tied with Anna Chisolm (.340) with 12 long balls. Chisolm is a threat on the base paths as well, with a squad high 16 stolen bases and leads Besgears in RBI, 31 to 30. Seven Gamecocks have earned time in the circle this season, led by staff ace Faith Sims who has tossed 127.2 innings. Sims has struck out 126 batters and is 16-3 with two saves and has a 1.81 ERA.
