TSU begins Ohio Valley Conference play with a pair of double headers while in the midst of a seven game home stand. The Tigers look to improve on a 1-20 finish a year ago. 

Tennessee State dropped both ends of a twin bill against Maine on Tuesday evening, 6-1 and 9-3. Bri Vire collected three hits in the double header, including her first career triple in a two hit performance in game one. Reese Weber was one of six Tigers to register two hits and was the only member to have an RBI in each game. On the season, Vire continues to lead TSU with a .431 batting average, 22 hits and 12 runs scored. In the circle, freshman Raven Loveless continues to be the workhorse. Loveless is 4-3 on the season with a 2.78 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 50.1 innings.

The Redhawks enter as the top hitting team in the Ohio Valley Conference and is second in pitching. The offense is batting .315 and has scored 183 runs (6.3 per game), while the pitching staff has teamed for a 2.86 ERA, striking out 162 batters in 186.0 innings. Rachel Anderson leads the OVC in hitting with 43 hits in 90 at bats for a .478 average. Anderson has five doubles, seven triples, six home runs, 28 runs scored, 31 RBI and 11 stolen bases. Alexis Estes is second in the OVC with a 1.73 ERA and has amassed a 6-1 record with a save, while tossing 36.1 innings. Rachel Rook adds another solid arm to the staff at 6-2 with two saves, a 2.86 ERA and 48 punch outs in 44.0 innings.

The Skyhawks enter with the second best fielding percentage (.967) in the OVC, committing just 25 errors in 747 chances. UTM his batting .288 as a unit, which sports six batters with over .300 average. Paige Clark leads the squad at .495, tallying 32 hits in 79 at bats with a double, two triples, a home run, 19 runs and 13 RBI. Clark shares the team lead in stolen bases (15) with Haylee Short (.321). Alli Fulcher and Gracyn McBride provide the power with five and four home runs, respectively.
