Tennessee State closes out the 2018 season with a pair of Ohio Valley Conference double headers at home this weekend. The Tigers will honor seniors Whitney Ennis and Kasey Cox in between games versus Belmont on Friday afternoon.

Tigers (3-46, 0-18)

Kasey Cox led TSU at UT Martin as she collected four consecutive hits, including a double. The Tigers lone run on Sunday came on the first collegiate home run by Ariel Johnson. Sarah Snell leads the Big Blue with a .268 batting average, as well as several other offensive categories, including walks with 28. The base on balls total is tied for second in the Tigers single season record books.

Brooklin Lee enters as the ace of the Bruins pitching staff with 202 strikeouts in 116.2 innings. Lee is holding opposing hitters to a .202 batting average and has a 12-12 record with a 1.89 ERA. Lexi Rouse and Jess Andree lead the offense, both batting over .300. Rouse is hitting at a .319 clip with 10 doubles, a triple, eight home runs, 26 RBI, 25 walks and 15 runs scored. Andree tops the Bruins with 22 runs, 27 RBI and shares the home run lead with Rouse at eight. Andree also has six doubles, a triple and 14 walks.

Austin Peay (33-15, 14-4)

APSU enters the weekend hitting .277 and sport five batters over .300. Danielle Liermann and Bailey Shorter both top the Governors at .348. Liermann has belted 15 home runs and 10 doubles while driving in 46 runners. Shorter has hit eight doubles, five dingers and 22 RBI. Natalie Schilling (.308) supplies the speed with a team leading 36 stolen bases and 39 runs scored. The Govs look to Morgan Rackel and Kelly Mardones to handle the majority of the pitching duties. Rackel is 18-6 with a 1.51 ERA, two saves, and 183 strikeouts in 153.1 innings of work. Mardones is 11-4 with a 2.21 ERA and 30 punch outs in 107.2 innings.
